This week’s paper details…

Presenter: Nathan Taylor

Title: The Aseity Argument Against Libertarianism

Time: From noon to 1pm

Abstract: In this paper I show that if one affirms robust Anselmian understanding of the attributes of aseity, omniscience, and necessity then this entails that it is necessarily false that creatures have libertarian freedom because it is incompatible with the aseity of God’s omniscience. First, I give an Anselmian rationale for all three divine attributes: aseity, omniscience, and necessity.  Second, I show how the robust Anselmian view of the divine attributes of aseity, omniscience, and necessity entails that it is necessarily false that creatures have libertarian free will.  Lastly, I answer possible objections to my thesis.

See ya there!
